Office Buddy's address is in Ambattur Industrial Estate, Chennai 600058. That makes Ambattur more than a service area for us; it is the neighbourhood we work from every day.
An estate built on small and medium manufacturers
Ambattur Industrial Estate was developed by the Tamil Nadu government in the 1960s and is managed by TANSIDCO. It is often described as one of the largest small-scale industrial estates in South Asia, with well over a thousand units. Many of them are auto-component makers, engineering and machining shops, fabricators and garment units, supported by service businesses and trade offices along the estate roads.
What estate units usually need from us
A typical unit here is not a glass-front corporate office. It is a factory floor with a small office attached: a proprietor, an accounts person, a supervisor or two and a stores desk. The paperwork is real, though, and so is the need for basic supplies:
- Registers and record books for stores, inward/outward, attendance and production logs
- Files, folders and box files for purchase orders, delivery challans and quality records
- Toner and cartridges for the one printer that prints every invoice and dispatch document
- Copier paper in quantities that match month-end billing
- Housekeeping supplies for the shop floor, washrooms and office area
- Pantry items for tea breaks, and vending machines for units with larger shift teams
Owners and managers here are busy running production. Buying stationery, toner and cleaning supplies from three or four different shops takes time away from that. We put them on one list and one quote.
Printer rental for small offices on the estate
For units that have outgrown an old printer but do not want to buy a new one, printer rental is worth considering.
Close to home
Because we operate from the estate, we know it well: the internal roads, the mix of small sheds and larger plants, and how busy the area gets at shift change. We also supply neighbouring Anna Nagar and Avadi.
How to start
Send a list of what your unit buys in a normal month, or a photo of your last few bills, and we will come back with a written quote.
